*READ TO THE END!*
I hate to preface this with the negative, but, it's necessary to understand why we gave this place five stars.
We came here on a very busy night. I mean slammed. We had reservations and were seated quickly, but there was a mixup with table assignments for the severs and we ended up being forgotten.
Now, normally this would've been a big turn off for us. We actually became pretty irritated as we were both pretty hungry and tired at this point. I snagged one of the fellas waiting and advised him of the issue and he was extremely apologetic. He promised he would find out what happened and ensure he'd take care of us.
We are SO glad we hung in there. After the initial mixup was cleared the food came rolling out. That pasta carbonara is by far the BEST we have ever had, hands down, and we are both picky Italians! Absolutely superb dishes all around. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were happy, and we even spoke with the owner and chef briefly to thank him for the outstanding food.
This will definitely be our "go to" spot in Temecula when visiting, which we do very often.
Oh, and get the deserts. You'll thank us later. Holy smokes. -

Solid 4 stars...
We both wanted Italian tonight so we turned for yelp recommendations! We didn't have a reservation but got a seat immediately on the patio. It was a cool night but heaters kept the climate manageable.
I only let myself get the chicken parm on vaca, so I had to have it! Breaded chicken with a nice sauce and ole ty of melted cheese. Served with al dente garlic OO pasta...great flavor and large portion. My only criticism is that the chicken lacked crispness I look for in a fried food. Served with fresh bread and a flavorful pesto. Yelp check in yielded a slab of tiramisu!
Ambiance is garden patio, service was friendly and attentive, and prices were in line with the area and quality.
Our favorite meal the whole weekend! This joint makes the list... -

I came here because I saw another reviewer wrote this is better pasta than Italy or that they thought the meatballs were heavenly. Granted I did take it with a grain of salt but having been to Italy 3 times in the past 9 months I was curious.
As you can probably tell by the rating, this place did not deliver. I'm not sure if its because their homemade / handmade pastas were extremely hard, not flavorful, and in my opinion way underdone, or that they charged an obscene $3 more for it when many of their pasta dishes were over $22 (up to $30! for no-protein pasta!) but I was really disappointed by this spot.
If you're looking for authentic Italian, don't come here. If you crave a soft and reasonably seasoned meatball and you have no other choices in life, you may proceed. -

Went here on NYE and for my birthday celebration. 8 of us in our party. Their NYE menu was extensive, and had diverse choices from steak to pork chops, clams, eggplant, chicken, salmon, etc. Everyone enjoyed their food, and it came out quickly on a very busy night. Food was hot, and good. Very large portions at reasonable prices! Edward, our waiter, was excellent. We will definitely be back.

Despite the snafu with the ladies at the front desk who didn't communicate very effectively with our party on how long it would take to be seated, we had a wonderful evening at Il Tramonto! Mark was our waiter and made the entire evening a success due to his kindness, sense of humor and attentiveness. He gave excellent wine recommendations as well as his entree favorites.
For appetizers, our favorite was the artichoke and calamari. The salmon was the standout dish and we could've licked the risotto off the plate. The dessert was also delicious; I highly recommend the bread pudding! Thank you to our amazing waiter!
